The Hatchery has 11 unique rooms, all offering comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, and space for up to 49 guests in total. Rooms can be booked individually for smaller groups or the entire venue can be reserved for larger events, such as weddings or corporate gatherings. All rooms are equipped with a fridge, kettle, and air-con, with the venue providing an old-school, laid-back vibe. For those looking to sizzle up a feast, a mobile braai is available, and there are catering options for guests who prefer not to cook.
Pet-Friendly Outdoor Features:
The Hatchery offers wide-open spaces where non-aggressive dogs are welcome to roam off-leash. There’s no fencing, so dogs with poor recall or those not used to livestock (including cows and goats) should be kept on a lead. However, cross the lagoon, and your pup can enjoy the leash-free, practically private beach. There’s a dedicated doggy pool for your furry friends, and for those who’ve booked the entire venue, dogs are allowed in the human pool if the group agrees. With views over the lagoon and a relaxed atmosphere, The Hatchery offers a barefoot beach living experience perfect for both humans and their pets.
On-Site Pet-Friendly Activities:
With no fences and plenty of space, dogs can enjoy exploring the property at will. The beach across the lagoon is leash-free and ideal for long walks or a paddle. Guests can hire a rowboat to explore the quieter parts of the lagoon where there are no livestock. There’s also fly-fishing, kite surfing, and bird watching available for those who want a mix of relaxation and adventure. For the humans, there's a wood-fired hot tub, and the communal kitchen provides ample space for group cooking.

PET POLICY
- Maximum of 2 small to medium dogs per room. Larger dogs are welcome midweek or when the entire venue is booked.
- More than 2 dogs per booking can be accommodated by special request for an additional R100 per dog.
- Dogs are not permitted on the furniture.
- There’s a dedicated doggy pool, but dogs are only allowed in the human pool if the venue is fully booked by the same group.
- No aggressive or unsocialised dogs are allowed, and damages caused by pets are the responsibility of their owners.
- Guests should clean up after their pets and bring their own food bowls, bedding, and water bowls.
- Dogs can roam off-leash on the beach, but caution is advised around livestock, and dogs with poor recall should be kept on a lead.
