If you're seeking a private, tranquil escape, Red Earth Farmhouse is your ideal destination. This family-friendly self-catering accommodation sleeps 2 to 6 guests and welcomes both children of all ages and dogs of any breed or size.
Built from locally sourced red clay, the farmhouse exudes a unique homemade charm, featuring 3 bedrooms, a spacious lounge, dining area, kitchen, pantry, and a bathroom with a bath and shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery, a toaster, fridge/freezer, and a gas stove, while a fireplace adds warmth on chilly nights. Outside, a braai facility is available on the stoep, and braai wood can be purchased on-site. Cleaning services are available upon request.
Red Earth operates entirely off-grid with solar and gas, providing a sustainable and eco-friendly stay. The property offers easy access to walking trails and a nearby dam for swimming, perfect for enjoying the surrounding diverse fauna and flora of the Magaliesberg Biosphere, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Nature enthusiasts will delight in the rich birdlife, frogs, butterflies, and wildlife like baboons, porcupines, and monkeys, creating a true bushveld ambiance complemented by sounds of lions and jackals. The area's natural wonders include walks in the kloof, offering off-lead trails amidst untouched nature, making it a pet-friendly haven with a secluded setting, spacious fenced garden, and off-grid charm.
PET POLICY
Red Earth Farmhouse welcomes dogs of any breed or size, with a limit of 3 small dogs or 2 larger dogs (over 25kg). The cottage is conveniently located near the entrance of the off-lead hiking routes down the Kloof and dam, and it features an enclosed area at the back, although the entire compound or braai area is not fenced.
Dogs are allowed to roam freely off-lead within the home and even on the stoep, provided they do not wander or pose a threat to farm animals like goats and geese. However, when exploring common farm areas beyond designated hiking trails and the immediate stoep area of the farmhouse, guests are kindly asked to keep their dogs on a lead. This measure ensures the safety of livestock and farm workers, enhancing the overall experience for everyone.
For a comfortable stay for pets, guests are encouraged to bring their own bedding and bowls, as these amenities are not provided at the cottage.
