Morado Cottage, a newly renovated, pet-friendly, luxury self-catering cottage situated at the foot of the Riviersonderend Mountain Range, between Greyton and Riviersonderend. Perfect for two guests and their pets, Morado offers complete privacy, stunning mountain views, and direct access to nature. This secluded gem is ideal for pet owners looking to unwind in the peaceful countryside while their dogs explore the wide-open spaces.
Inside the cottage, you’ll find a queen-size bed with Egyptian cotton linen, a spacious bathroom with a freestanding bath and open shower, and a fully equipped kitchen featuring a gas stove and oven. Sliding doors lead to a private garden with a braai area, overlooking your very own dam—perfect for dogs that love to swim. On cooler nights, light the indoor fireplace and enjoy the warmth and coziness.
Pet-Friendly Accommodation Details:
Morado Cottage is incredibly pet-friendly, with a large grassed area where your dogs can roam and swim in the dam. However, as the property is only partially fenced near the dam, owners with untrained dogs or those unfamiliar with livestock should take care. The farm’s cattle are seldom nearby, but arrangements can be made to ensure they are not in the camp during your stay if needed.
Dogs that are reactive or prefer not to interact with other animals will have complete privacy, as the resident dogs will not come into contact with your pets. Please keep dogs on a leash when walking near the farm’s livestock to prevent any disturbance, especially around pregnant sheep.
Pet-Friendly Outdoor Features:
Morado offers three different walking trails, each showcasing the farm's beauty and offering plenty of space for off-leash fun (where safe from livestock):
Three Orchards Trail: A peaceful, flat route perfect for leisurely strolls with 17 hectares of orchards to explore.
Hartebeest Route: A more challenging hike with significant elevation, ideal for adventurous dogs to run free.
Rainforest Route: A 15 km trail through a forested area with waterfalls and streams. This route offers tree cover and natural beauty, but dogs should be leashed when entering stock camps.

- Self Check-in: Guests enjoy the convenience of self-check-in with a key provided in a secure box.
- Braai Area: The mobile braai can be moved to your preferred spot near the dam or garden.
- Power: The property has limited backup power, so we recommend bringing emergency lights.
- Location: Morado is a 15-minute drive from Greyton, offering access to local restaurants and shops.

PET POLICY
Morado Cottage welcomes up to 3 small dogs or 2 large dogs per booking, with exceptions for additional dogs available upon special request by using the Enquire button. Guests are kindly asked to keep dogs off the beds and furniture where possible, and to bring their own throws, especially if their pets are used to snuggling on the couch or in bed. Water bowls are provided inside and outside the cottage, though feeding bowls must be brought along as these are not supplied. It’s recommended to treat dogs for ticks before arrival, particularly during spring and summer. Visitors should also be mindful of local wildlife, as puff adders can be found in the surrounding mountains. The nearest veterinary clinic, Overberg Dierehospital, is located in Caledon.
