Pet-Friendly Accommodation Details
Originally a fishing cottage, The Oaks comfortably sleeps 8 guests across four rooms: three double bedrooms and one twin room. Recently refurbished, the cottage maintains its quaint charm while offering modern comforts like a fully equipped kitchen, a cozy lounge with a fireplace, and a new courtyard deck complete with a KolKol wood-fired hot tub for stargazing or cooling off on hot days. A housekeeper services the cottage daily, and there are shared bathroom facilities, including a full bathroom with bath and shower, a separate toilet, and an additional separate shower.
Pet-Friendly Outdoor Features
- The Oaks is set within a private, fully enclosed garden, making it ideal for pets to roam safely. The farm itself offers a wide range of outdoor activities, from hiking and biking trails to swimming in the river or dams. With over 500 hectares to explore, your dog will have ample space to run free and enjoy nature alongside you. For those who love a good outdoor cookout, the cottage also includes a braai area, a fire pit, and a pizza oven.
- Book a Pet Portrait Photoshoot. Capture the special moments with your furry friends by booking a pet portrait photoshoot during your stay. Each session lasts between 30 minutes and an hour, and you’ll receive at least 20 beautifully edited digital images to treasure forever. Bring along your dog’s favourite toy or treat for that perfect shot! Sessions cost R500, and there’s no limit to how many dogs can participate.
Practical Information
There is secure parking available for guests, and the property is serviced daily. The cottage is located just over an hour from Dullstroom, making it easy to reach local amenities if you feel like venturing out, though many guests prefer to spend their time relaxing on the farm.
PET POLICY
At The Oaks, there is no limit to the number or size of dogs that you can bring on your pet-friendly holiday. This accommodation boasts a sizeable, fenced garden.
As you relish in the beauty of the outdoors, it's possible to come across cows, people or other small animals walking past the cottages while monkeys may visit the garden occasionally to forage for bugs on the lawn. Although monkeys are not aggressive, you can be sure that they are wary of all dogs and prefer staying on the trees. Our housekeeping staff comes daily and are excellent with dogs. However, it would be helpful if you could inform us in advance if your dogs are wary of new people, require an introduction, or have any special needs.
Just remember that they are an extension of your family and therefore you're responsible for their behaviour. Any damage to property may be charged for.
